INGLESIDE - There were plenty of empty seats at Ingleside High School today, after a terroristic threat was found on a bathroom wall.
Ingleside High School looked like a ghost town today, because only a few students showed up for the last day of class. The high school's principal told me off camera that there were 400 students missing from class today.
Though he feels that that is a combination of students who were worried about the threat, and students who wanted to leave early for the holidays.
"You know, kids will be kids. And that's kind of what's going on over here. I don't think, hopefully, we have no psychopaths over here," said one parent, Darrin Schweizer.
School officials have been taking the threat seriously, and several officers were assigned to watch over all of the Ingleside schools, including the Elementary and Junior High.
"It makes me feel pretty good to see them, you know? What kind of hacks my gourd a little bit, is that I went to school over here and we never had no issues like that. It's been 30 years, but I can't imagine that, that would happen," Schweizer said.
But when 10 am came around, Nothing happened.
Students say the day went smoothly, but around 10 o'clock, they told me that some of the teachers did crack down for safety-sake.
"Teachers wouldn't let us out, especially when ten o'clock came. They were really strict," said Dominique Aldape, a Junior at the high school.
And surprisingly enough, it wasn't just the parents that were upset over the threat on the school.
"I just thought it was rude for people to be making fun of it and making a joke out of it after what happened to the Connecticut kids. It was just sad," Aldape added.
School officials say they will continue their investigation, and try to find out who left the note despite the fact that it appears to only have been a hoax.
