WACO, Texas (AP) - The Texas Farm Bureau has honored a fourth grade teacher at Gilbert Mircovich Elementary in Ingleside with its 2012 Agriculture in the Classroom Outstanding Teacher award.

Israel Flores received the award Sunday at the Texas Farm Bureau's 79th annual meeting in Waco.

In a statement, the group said Flores received the award for his exceptional work incorporating agriculture into his classroom lesson plans and activities.

Texas Farm Bureau President Kenneth Dierschke said Flores' students learn farming and ranching concepts.

He said Flores had done an "exceptional job integrating agricultural concepts into classroom applications."
