Ingleside Police: Worker Kidnapped Over Debt

INGLESIDE - An employee at RBT Welders in Ingleside was pulled from the shop today and held at gunpoint inside a car. Police say the man from Brownsville was targeted because he owed the other man some money.

Police were able to free Francisco Torres Castillo when they blocked off the suspect's entrance to a bank. It's believed Carlos Ortiz-Espendez was going to force his victim to withdraw cash.

No one was injured in the incident. Ortiz-Espendez, a resident of Arkansas, is facing charges of aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery.

Investigators have not commented on the nature of the debt between the two men.
