Idziak Earns LSC Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week, Breaks School Record

KINGSVILLE, Texas - Freshman runner Michael Idziak received the Lone Star Conference Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week award for his performance during last weekend meet in Lubbock.

The freshman from Poland placed third at the Texas Tech Open last week. His time of 1:54.20 broke the school record in the 800-meter run.

The time is the best in the Lone Star Conference this season. He is just two tenths of a second off the provisional qualifying time for the NCAA Championships.

The Javelinas will be back in action when they travel back to Lubbock for the Lone Star Conference Championship meet Feb. 23-24.
