IceRays Send Three Select Teams to Chowder Cup

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - The Corpus Christi IceRays are once again set to compete in the 2012 John Cunniff Chowder Cup Junior ‘A' Elite Division from July 19-22 in Foxboro, Massachusetts. Last year, only one team traveled to the tournament. This year however, three teams will compete.
"After last year's success, we felt that adding an additional 2 teams would simply benefit the players that much more", said head coach Justin Quenneville, who is one of five IceRays staff members attending.
The schedule for the tournament can be found HERE, while the roster for the Red team is HERE, Black team HERE, and White team HERE. Corpus Christi's three teams will compile of past, present, and possible future IceRays players for the four day event.
"Heading into the Chowder Cup for my second year in a row now, I'm expecting our team to be able to compete with any team in the tournament," said IceRays defensemen Chris Taff. "It will be a great opportunity for us to be seen by scouts from all over. Also, it will be a chance for new players to learn more about the Corpus Christi IceRays organization."

"With the reputation, competition and success the Chowder Cup has endured over the years, the players on our teams will be exposed to an environment with some of the top collegiate programs and scouts on hand," Quenneville added. "We are excited to be a part of such a historic showcase and will look to compete in the Jr. A division with some of the best players around the world."
Quenneville will be joined at the tournament by Chris Mei (Assistant Coach), Ryan Bennett (Director of Scouting), Shawn Ray (Scout), and Marco Pietroniro (Scout / Longtime Pro Coach).
