NUECES COUNTY -- The Nueces County Sheriff's Office is investigating human remains found near the Joe Fulton Corridor.
Investigators say an AEP crew working in the area found the skeletal remains Monday afternoon.
The Sheriff's Department says the remains appeared to have been buried in a shallow grave but they're not sure how long they've been there.
Investigators say the body was decomposed and all that remained were the bones, so they believe the body must have been there for quite a while.
Investigators believe the remains are of a man in his 30's, but he hasn't been identified.
Detectives also found clothes including a pair of white running shoes with blue trim, either white or beige wind pants and a dark colored shirt.
The Medical Examiner has the skeletal remains right now and is helping with the investigation.
The Sheriff's Department is also taking a look at missing persons reports but so far they have no solid leads.
