HS Football Preview: Three Rivers Bulldogs

THREE RIVERS - The Bulldogs produced a solid season last year in class 2A, they'll be looking to do the same in 2012, but in a different classification. After advancing to the playoffs and winning its first round game, Three Rivers was dropped to class 1A in the offseason.
"It's nothing different. 1A is still going to be hard," four-year starting lineman James Lee said. "We still have to practice hard, and stay in shape, and all that good stuff."
"More of a motivation," senior running back Wesley Guzman said. "Since we're 1A, we have to try even harder because everybody thinks we're going to do better, but that's not it."
The Bulldogs' slot-T offense will be led by a solid backfield. Guzman has good speed and size, and will be counted on as a leader in his senior season. Quarterback Hagan Johnston also returns after starting as a sophomore.
"We don't have as many people so we're going to have to be in shape a lot, but other than that it's not much different. Not to me at least," Johnston said.
Defensive end Kalli Escamilla and Linebacker Zenon Sanchez will be counted on to lead the defense.
