HS Football Preview: Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats

SKIDMORE - The Bobcats didn't have a bad season in 2011, but it was far from the season they had hoped for. Winning five games, four in district, they came up short of the postseason, but with 17-starters back they're planning on making a run this year.
"We expect to be 9-0 going into the district championship, that's been my goal since the schedule came out and the offseason started," said Quarterback RJ Estrada.
Skidmore does have a new Head Coach in Russell Joy who replaced Dan Garza who is now at Pettus.
"We feel like we can succeed I love this coaching staff and love the new offense and have alot of confidence in it," said Estrada.
"A successful season would be going undefeated into the Refugio game and then knocking heads and trying for that win," said Linebacker Dominic Stewart.
The team believes experience will be the key in a district headlined by the Defending State Champion Refugio Bobcats.
"We do have a tough district with Refugio coming back, the defending state champions but really that just makes us work harder and set our goals higher and we will achieve them," said Running Back Kyle Nelson.
