KINGSVILLE - Santa Gertrudis will look for continued improvement in 2012, with nearly every starter returning. Coach Wally Moon returns 18 starters from a team that finished 2 and 8 a year ago. The offense should be led by sophomore QB Adam DeLaney, who returns after starting his freshman year.
"There is nothing to do besides going out there and playing as hard as you can every game," DeLaney said.
The Lions head into the season with much more experience on the field, and more confidence in the locker room.
"We look forward to playing against good teams because it makes us better as a program," lineman Dexter Hampton said.
"The line is fresh, brand new line. Lost some seniors but we will pick up and should be good," said defensive back Uriah Luna.
