CORPUS CHRISTI - Dry high pressure continues to have dominance on our forecast for the next several days all the way through the weekend which will promote lots of sunshine and very hot temperatures. Dangerous heat index values will range around 106-112 degrees each afternoon and the public is urged to use caution when outdoors and stay plenty hydrated and cool.
Today will be mostly sunny and very hot with an afternoon high of 96. Winds will be a little calmer than yesterday, but still on the breezy side around 12-22 mph out of the southeast.
Tonight will be warm and sticky again with only a few overhead clouds and a low of 79.
Tropical Depression Number Four has formed in the far eastern Atlantic just off the coast of Africa and is expected to strengthen slowly as the environment is not too favorable for quick development. Movement is towards the west-northwest and is too far out to be of concern to us in South Texas at this point.
