CORPUS CHRISTI - It was another bone dry day for most of the Coastal Bend yesterday afternoon as only a stray seabreeze shower made its way into our inland counties. As dry high pressure takes over the region, we can expect a gradual warming trend heading into the weekend with heat index values skyrocketing near 105-110 degrees in the afternoon for the next several days.
Today will be mostly sunny with a few clouds overhead and an afternoon high in the middle to upper 90s and only a lonely seabreeze shower this afternoon. Winds: SE 10-20 & G.
Tonight will be quiet and pleasant with mainly clear skies an overnight lows falling near the middle 70s.
T.S. Chantal is weakening and becoming more disorganized this Wednesday morning, but still moving very rapidly to the west-northwest towards the Dominican Republic and Haiti. Forecast models take Chantal towards the Sunshine State of Florida as a very weak tropical depression. Area residents will likely be dealing with lots of rain towards the weekend and poses no threat to us here in South Texas. Our next chance for some isolated rainfall comes early next week.
