CORPUS CHRISTI - Yesterday, afternoon highs soared into the upper 90s and for the third straight day we have either tied or broken a record high. Unfortunately, high pressure looks to remain firmly in place going into the weekend and hot temperatures and mostly sunny skies will stick around.
Today the heat index values will once again reach the 105-110 degree mark as we look for another tying record of high of 97. With the exception of a few clouds, the sunshine will be in full force with winds out of the southeast around 15-25.
Tonight it will be partly cloudy and muggy as temperatures fall into the upper 70s.
Tropical Depression #2 remains in the southern Bay of Campeche and is a bit better organized today and looks to make landfall near Veracruz as a minimal tropical storm and remain no threat here.
