Homeowner Chases Down Men Accused of Stealing Fishing Gear

CORPUS CHRISTI - Police headed out to Eaglesnest Bay Drive late last night for a report of a homeowner chasing down two guys accused of stealing fishing rods.

According to police, the homeowner's 11-year-old daughter first alerted her mother about the two strange men outside their home on Padre Island.

The woman was in the middle of an argument with Brandon Sanchez, 21, and John Anthony Davis, 24, when officers pulled up.

Officers found the men had two fishing rods (worth $2,400) taken from a vehicle, plus four other rods and reels believed to be stolen.

Sanchez and Davis are charged with auto burglary. Police are still looking for anyone else in the area who's missing their fishing gear.

If you may be a victim, call the Corpus Christi Police Department's Property Crimes Division at 361-886-2841.
