CORPUS CHRISTI -- If you're following the water guidelines but your neighbor isn't, would that frustrate you?
It irritated one homeowner on Graford Place, who reported to 6 News that a developer, Rick's Homes, had multiple properties that are watered daily.
When we checked on it Monday, we found water on the sidewalk and in the gutter, on top of just watered grass at three homes under construction there.
Turns out builders can apply for a permit to water daily if they have newly planted grass. The permit gives them 60 days to bend the rules and water on non-trash days. That gives the roots time to establish. They still must water before 10 a.m. and after 6 p.m. and cannot have water runoff.
The city confirmed to 6 News that the builder does not have a permit on that street.
We did call the developer, who told us he would call the city to apply for one.
