CORPUS CHRISTI - Officers armed with tasers ended a standoff with an armed man behaving erratically at a home on Holmes Drive this afternoon. Less than an hour ago officers were called to the home between McArdle and Mt Vernon.
A neighbor told us after the whole situation was over that the man taken into custody is hearing impaired.
There's still no word on what started the whole situation. Our reporter on the scene saw a scared little boy run from the home as a large man was yelling at officers to leave.
He went back into the home before officers could get a handle on the situation. We're hearing he may have cut his hands while breaking out the front windows of the home.
The man was also threatening to harm himself further and officers. It's believed the guy had a pistol with him. Around 4:45 officers used a taser to get the man under control.
A request for the SWAT team was canceled as supervisors were still trying to figure out where they would set up.
As officers had the man in cuffs against a police car they took him down the to the ground. You could hear a boy in the background crying "Daddy, Daddy, oh God, Daddy, don't kill him!"
A police spokesperson says the man is facing charges of terroristic threats.
