RICHARDSON, TEXAS - The Texas A&M-Kingsville football team had 10 combined first and second team Lone Star Conference South Division picks and 11 more Honorable Mention selections recognized Thursday when the annual football awards were announced by LSC officials.
The Javelinas, the LSC champions, had three players earn first team honors led by junior running back Fred "Hollywood" Winborn (N. Hollywood, CA/Grant HS). He led the conference in total rushing yards (1,072) and yards per game (97.5). He had four 100-yard performances, including a school-record 263 yard performance in a win over Eastern New Mexico. He leads the team with 15 touchdowns and 1,251 all-purpose yards.
Senior left guard Markeith Wesley (Navasota/Navasota HS) was a repeat first team selection. He leads one of the strongest offensive lines in the conference. He was a big reason why the team averaged over 425 yards of total offense and nearly 32 points per game.
Senior wide receiver E.J. LeBlanc (Beaumont/Texas State) earned first team honors as a return specialist. He averaged 8.7 yards per punt return with a long of 50 yards and also returned three kicks an average of 23 yards.
The offense had three more players named to the LSC South Second Team. Senior quarterback Billy Garza (Brownsville/Porter HS) was an Honorable Mention selection last year and is a Harlon Hill Regional Finalist this year. He is 205-of-339 for 2,547 yards and 17 touchdowns while rushing for 178 yards and two scores. He has four 300-yard passing games this year.
Junior wide receiver Ryan Lincoln (Bastrop/Bastrop HS) is now a two-time second team selection. He leads the team with 52 catches for 810 yards and two touchdowns. He has three 100-yard receiving games this season.
Senior left tackle Jorge Guerra (Roma/Roma HS) followed Garza's path moving from Honorable Mention last year to second team honors this year. He is a four-year starter who has been dominating this year. He has blocked at a 91 percent rate and finished off the season with six downfield blocks and four pancake blocks against Angelo State.
Four Javelinas earned LSC South Second Team Defense honors including two linebackers and two safeties.
Senior linebacker John Reeves (Bay City/Bay City HS) is a two-time second team selection. He is fourth on the team with 61 tackles including five for loss and one sack. He has broken up four passes and recovered one fumble despite playing the second half of the season with a broken hand.
Senior Jeff Edwards (Houston/Westside HS) moved from defensive end to linebacker this year and thrived. He had 63 tackles, six for loss and a sack. He had three interceptions on the season and was named the LSC Defensive Player of the Week twice this year.
Junior safety DeIra Glover (Hempstead/Hempstead HS) may have been the team's top defensive player this year. He led the squad with 82 tackles while adding five tackles for loss and a half sack. He had two interception returns for touchdowns this year and recovered a fumble. He had a career high 14 tackles at Midwestern State.
Junior safety Corey Robertson (Denison/Denison HS) teamed with Glover to form one of the hardest hitting safety combinations around. He had 57 tackles, five for loss and four pass breakups. He also returned a blocked punt for a touchdown.
The Hogs had five offensive players, two kickers and four defensive players earn LSC South Honorable Mention honors.
Junior running back Connell Davis (Portland/Gregory-Portland HS) has gained 494 yards rushing and has 15 catches for 192 yards receiving. He is second on the team with 10 touchdowns.

Brom converted 40-of-42 extra points and was 7-for-12 in field goal attempts. He had a season long of 44 yards. Smith averaged 35.4 yards per punt and had nearly a third of his punts downed inside the 20-yard line.
