CORPUS CHRISTI - The mother of a teenage boy who is in critical condition after a hit-and-run last month says her son is continuing to improve.
Recent cell phone video shows 17-year-old Christian Carrillo in the hospital using his fingers to count. This is something doctors said he'd never be able to do. Today Christian's mother told us he's been using his eyes to answer questions by blinking.
When she asked him if he remembered the hit-and-run, he signaled to her with his eyes that he did. His mother also said she's been bringing him a dry erase pad to try to get him to communicate through writing again.
