Hispanic Heritage Month at Texas A&M Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI - In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is hosting a variety of cultural events on campus, including a Hector P. Garcia State Holiday celebration.

Dr. José Limón, former Director of the Center for Mexican American Studies at University of Texas, and current Director of the University of Notre Dame's Institute for Latino Studies will speak on "Dr. Hector and Don Pedrito: Social Crisis, Master Symbols, and Healing in Southern Texas."

The event will be held on Friday September 20th at the Center for Instruction, Rm. 138 from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. It sponsored by the Mexican American Studies Program, History Area, College of Liberal Arts, the Student Government Association, and Islander Cultural Alliance. This event is free and open to the public.
