CORPUS CHRISTI - Wind gusts in the 50 mph range are causing problems across the Coastal Bend this afternoon. As of 1 p.m AEP Texas is reporting power outages in Nueces, San Patricio, Duval, Jim Wells and Live Oak counties.

Fire crews in multiple areas are checking out reports of grass fires, both small and large. Residents are also calling 911 to report downed trees, power or utility lines and malfunctioning traffic signals.

KRIS Meteorologist Matt Terhune forecasts the winds should slow down this evening in the range of 15-25 mph.
