Help Filing Taxes

CORPUS CHRISTI -- Income tax returns can be difficult to file and frustrating
and today people got a hand with their returns too.

Accounting students at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi and our local United Way offered assistance on campus today.

Students and parents from Corpus Christi and Flour Bluff could get help filing their taxes, and, this will be a huge help especially for those students looking into financial aid.

The free assistance was for anyone earning $55,000 or less last year.

Kelly Cholick with United Way of the Coastal Bend said, "Anytime you talk about taxes people get scared and our intimidated and there are a lot of things people don't know and what credits they might be eligible for so it can be complicated and it's nice for tax payers to have a place to go where they don't have to pay anything for the tax preparation."
