CORPUS CHRISTI - HEB will be reconstructing the road their bread and tortilla factory is on. HEB discovered a tax incentive through the city that will help with the cost of the road. The city is giving HEB $850,000 for the improvement of McCampbell Road and for the retention of 388 jobs.
HEB officials believe it will cost them at least a couple million dollars to fix the road, but say the cost is worth it. The HEB transportation department says at least 430 trucks will be on the road every week. As well as many other pedestrian cars and trucks.
HEB hopes construction to the 15 hundred foot road will begin in June. They expect construction to last about four months. They say the road should be very durable for quite a while because they will be using concrete instead of asphalt.
