CORPUS CHRISTI - Hot and humid across the Coastal Bend today as temperatures jumped into the upper 80's to lower 90's earlier this afternoon with a stout wind out of the southeast around 10-20 miles per hour with isolated gusts as high as 30. There were a few isolated showers with a few embedded thunderstorms that moved in along with the seabreeze and have for the most part moved to the northwest where most of that activity will stay through tonight. Expect another round of those isolated showers to end out the work week as abundant tropical moisture flows in from the Gulf of Mexico. Winds will increase tomorrow just slightly from today's levels with gusts around 35 mph so plan outdoor activities accordingly.
Tonight expect a few clouds to linger into the evening with partly cloudy skies and an overnight low in the mid 70's for inland communities and the upper 70's for residents along the coastline.
Friday looks to be a carbon copy of this afternoon with an afternoon high of 92 and partly to mostly cloudy skies with a brief downpour along the seabreeze during the midday hours. A few of those could start a bit earlier along the coast and move inland through the day. Again, winds will be gusting out the southeast with sustained numbers around 15-25.
No major relief in sight as far as rain and cooler temperatures go. There will be a very weak frontal boundary that will arrive late Sunday night into Monday morning, but will only drop temperatures a degree or two for afternoon highs.
Have an excellent evening!
