CORPUS CHRISTI - High pressure continues to be firmly anchored over South Texas and will keep our dry weather pattern persistent through this afternoon with hot temperatures and heat index values skyrocketing into dangerous categories around 110 for inland regions.
Today will be mostly sunny with less wind and temperatures soaring around 97 degrees. Winds: SSE 10-20.
Tonight will be mild and quiet with a few streaming clouds overhead and lows falling into the middle to upper 70s. Winds: S 5-10
All the tropics are quiet with the exception on the Pacific side posing no threat here. The high pressure that is anchored over us is going to sit for several days and is in no hurry to leave. With the exception of only a few sprinkles in the morning for the weekend, everyone remaining bone dry as we continue through the summer months.
