CORPUS CHRISTI - The Harbor Lights Festival tree was taken down today by a crew of twenty aided by a crane. It took about 4 hours to disassemble.
Festival organizers say this version of the tree may be scrapped due to how much damage sustained in our rapidly changing weather. It's already been used for 4 years now.
"We're dealing with the winds, the sun some days, and then we have the salt in the bay. So it's just the climate that we have here," says Maria Pedraza.
Board members have to decide if they want to salvage what they already have or invest in another tree. If they decide on a new tree the board would require donations and sponsorships to make the purchase.
