ORANGE GROVE - Homeowners in Orange Grove are still cleaning up from last week's hail storm.
One resident said it could take a couple weeks before he actually hears back from his insurance company. If it weren't for his family, he said he probably wouldn't have his utilities back on yet. "Very fortunate that my stepson and nephew were in that field of work," he said.
When driving through neighborhoods in the town, the damage from the storm is clearly visible. It isn't something these residents expected, and many weren't prepared to front the cost of fixing their homes. Many residents are forced to wait on the insurance company estimates before they can start repairing their homes.
One insurance adjuster said that he's going from home to home as quickly as possible, drawing up damage reports all throughout this week. He couldn't give us exact numbers, but said the damage is substantial.
Even though the damage is bad, one resident is just thankful that no one was hurt. "That's nothing, we're okay. We're alive. We're together."
