CORPUS CHRISTI - High school students from across Texas visit Texas A&M Corpus Christi this week to learn about underwater robotics for a competition.
Teams of three were tasked with building a robot that will go underwater and retrieve an object. Today they put their work to the test.
The winning design made it in and out of the pool with the object in 57 seconds.
Students say they're grateful for the experience. "I was always interested in robotics and this experience really trained my mind a lot more," says student Lonnie Reyes.
The main competition is Saturday when the teams will race to see which robot can retrieve the object the fastest.
