SINTON - Some tempers got hot today at the San Patricio County Courthouse. It happened after a hearing for Hannah Roberts.
She's the woman accused of driving drunk and killing three people in a car crash last year.
At first, it was all going according to plan. She pled guilty to all charges and submitted a plea that she had made with prosecutors to the judge.
The deal called for ten years in prison.
But when the judge rejected the deal, Roberts was escorted out of the courtroom, and that's when it happened.
The victim's relatives were in the hallway. They say Roberts and thought she was being freed. They attacked her.
D.P.S officers rushed up stairs to restrain the relatives. There was yelling, shouting, shoving.
Roberts was rushed out of the courthouse, as were the relatives.
We met up with those relatives outside as they expressed their anger.
Sheriff Leroy Moody explained to them that the case wasn't over, the judge had simply dismissed the deal and set a trial date.
Even still, one victim's aunt questioned how long the whole process has taken.
"There's no justice because she's not in jail right now. She's under a bond or whatever right now you know? That's just not fair," says Daila Villanueva.
Another victim's great grandmother says she can't bear to see her great granddaughter without a mother.
"Everything's been washed away. And it's all changed," Veronica Alvarado says.
Now the victim's relatives wait for the trial start date, June 17th.
