CORPUS CHRISTI - On Sunday afternoon, police swarmed a home on Linden Street for a man reportedly threatening to kill his grandfather with a sword. However, his grandfather told police the younger man threatened to kill him while holding a sheetrock knife, according to a report filed by police.
It was the grandfather who called 911 after his grandson confronted him while he was cutting down a tree stump with a chainsaw, according to the report. Officers say the grandfather was told by James Wilmot, "If you don't stop that I'm going to cut your head off."
The grandfather left the house so he could meet with police at nearby Sherwood Park. According to police, the grandfather took Wilmot's threats seriously because he uses drugs.
Police went the garage apartment on Linden and found the door open. According to the report, the officer pushed the door open and noticed Wilmot sitting on the couch and talking on a phone. He then walked out of the apartment to talk with police. Officers say he consented to a search of the apartment.
According to police, the evidence taken from the scene includes two baggies of what they think is crystal meth, a scale, pipes and a knife with a hooked end.
