CORPUS CHRISTI - Carlos Gonzalez plead guilty to murder today for the 2007 beating death of a man in his westside Corpus Christi home. Gonzalez was on trial for the second time after an appeals court ruled the judge in the original trial issued flawed instructions to the jury.
He was serving a life sentence for the murder of Victor Morales. But will now spend the next 40 years in prison, with credit for time served.
Gonzales and the other suspect in the case, Pablo Padilla, blamed each other for the murder. Padilla is currently serving a life sentence.
