CORPUS CHRISTI - With the recent oil and gas boom related to the Eagle Ford Shale, there's also been an increase of 18-wheeler traffic around the area.
That's why the 'Give Safety a Hand' campaign was launched by Texas Mutual Insurance with the assistance of local and state businesses. The goal is to educate employees in the energy industry on how to be safe on the road.
A wrecked semi visited the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds in Robstown to serve as a reminder to truckers. The driver of the truck was hit by a train at a railroad crossing in Cotulla last year.
