CORPUS CHRISTI - The little girl who was pulled from the bottom of a Robstown city pool died last night.
Police tell us there were about 10 lifeguards on duty during the time of the drowning, but only one jumped into action and began CPR on the girl.
The family told police 7-year-old Allison Campos was trying to take off her floaties. A short time later someone noticed she was on te bottom of the pool.
Medics took her to Northwest Regional Hospital where doctors were unable to revive her.
Police ruled the drowning was an accident, but have the pool closed until the investigation is complete.
According to the Texas Department of Family & Protective Services, 26 children have drowned in the state this year. For more information on pool safety visit the agency's website - http://bit.ly/1m344v8
