BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) - Investigators say a Georgia man faces up to 10 years in prison in a failed plot to kill three people in Texas.

Prosecutors in Beaumont say no sentencing date has been set for Maurice Underwood of Sylvania, Ga. Underwood on Monday pleaded guilty to conspiracy to use interstate commerce facilities to commit murder for hire.

Authorities on Tuesday did not release more details on the investigation or the alleged targets in Cleveland, about 40 miles northeast of Houston.

Underwood was arrested during a January 2011 traffic stop in Orange. A search of the vehicle led to two assault rifles, a ski mask, photos of three individuals and printed directions to a Cleveland address.

Prosecutors say Underwood was given $1,000 and promised a truck to kill the three people.
