CORPUS CHRISTI- After a huge operation, the CCPD nets a longtime gang member. Juan De La Garza was picked up on several warrants over the weekend.
Police say he's also accused of "taxing" or shaking down local business owners. Several of those business owners contacted police about it, he was tracked down after a long investigation.
In addition to the felony warrants, De La Garza also faces charges for extortion.
Investigators say he's known to sell drugs as well, so the narcotics vice team was called in to assist the gang unit in the arrest. His bond is more than $750,000.
