DUVAL COUNTY- The Duval County Sheriff's Department raided three games rooms Wednesday night. All of those arrests were made in the city of San Diego.
Sheriff Romeo Ramirez told us that the three raids were the result of an ongoing investigation, and they believe the game rooms have been handing out illegal cash prizes.
Two of the game rooms had been set up in portable buildings, and those will be seized today.
As of now, seven people have been arrested, including one female. The owners of the game rooms could be facing charges.
Investigators opened up every game machine in the establishments to count the amount of money. When we last spoke with Sheriff Ramirez, he told us the amount was about $33,000.
The machines will be removed today.
Last week, Duval County Deputies seized almost $50,000 from a car during a routine traffic stop. Ramirez said that money came from one of the game rooms that were raided last night.
