Corpus Christi, TX - Corpus Christi Fury Quarterback Robert Kent has signed with the San Antonio Talons of the Arena Football League. Kent is scheduled to suit up for the Talons this weekend as the Talons host the Philadelphia Soul.
Kent signed with the Fury after playing professionally for the Tennessee Titans and numerous arena and indoor football teams. He led the Fury all the way to the Ultimate Indoor Football League championship game in the team's inaugural season. Kent led the Ultimate Indoor Football League in passing and also led the Fury in rushing during the 2013 season.
"We are excited for Robert to have the opportunity to play for an AFL team," stated Head Coach LaDaniel Marshall. "Players work all year long looking for the opportunity to move up to the AFL and I am proud that one of our players has been given the opportunity to show what he can do." Kent will be playing in the talons final regular season game on Saturday vs. the Philadelphia Soul. Robert Kent said, "I am thankful and blessed for the opportunity to keep playing the sport that I love. It has been a long journey to get here and I'm so appreciative of all of the support my family, friends, and most of all the fans that make it work every penny. I would like to thank all of the Fury fans, sponsors and everyone that has helped support the team which has helped give me this opportunity."
