RICHARDSON, TEXAS - The Texas A&M-Kingsville football team had four student-athletes earn Lone Star Conference South Division academic honors this year.
Senior left tackle Jorge Guerra (Roma/Roma HS) headlined the group after being named to the South Division All-Academic Team. Guerra is a currently pursuing his Master's Degree in Business after earning a bachelor's degree in International Business.
Three other Javelinas were named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll including junior Tim Byerly (Victoria/Memorial HS), senior Thermon Biggers (Houston/Bush HS) and sophomore Drew Harper (Houston/Aldine Nimitz HS).
The All-Academic Teams are voted upon by league's sports information directors. To be eligible for LSC academic honors, student-athletes need at least a 3.30 GPA and must be at least a sophomore. All qualifying student-athletes not voted to the All-Academic Team are then placed on the Commissioner's Honor Roll.
