BROWNSVILLE, Texas (AP) - The three victims of a package bomb that blew up at their South Texas home are in stable condition as investigators try to determine who left the explosives.
Brownsville police spokesman J.J. Trevino said Monday that 5-year-old Andrea Juarez is in critical but stable condition in Galveston. Her parents, 26-year-old Jesus Juarez and 30-year-old Iviz Machado, are hospitalized in stable condition in San Antonio.
The family found a package outside their Brownsville home on Friday morning. When they opened it, one of four explosive devices detonated - burning the victims.
Trevino says police have leads but no suspects. Additional people were in the home at the time of the explosion but have not been fully cooperative.
The FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are also investigating.
