CORPUS CHRISTI - U.S. Marshals in Tucson, Arizona have arrested the former owners of Two George's Seafood Restaurant on charges of theft.
Jim Ovecka and Michelle Chapman are being held without bond in the Pima County, Arizona jail awaiting extradition back to Corpus Christi. We're told they were arrested without incident at the Mount Vista Moible Home Park in Tucson on theft warrants issued in Nueces County back in October 2011.
Both are accused of stealing about $180,000 from customers by adding extra charges to their credit cards. At least 31 people came forward to police with claims against the couple.
Acting on a tip, police found the restaurant's van at the Corpus Christi International Airport shortly after they received the complaints in 2011.
Investigators told us the couple transferred money from a special credit card account into two banks accounts before withdrawing large sums of money.
The restaurant closed under their management back in September 2011, but has since reopened under the management of the original owner.
