ROBSTOWN - Officers with the Robstown Police Department are looking for a former colleague accused of having sex with a 14-year old girl.
KRIS 6 News was able to get a hold of court documents stating a young girl claims says former Robstown police officer Ernest Martinez IV had sex with her about a year ago..
She told police it all started at Ortiz Intermediate School where Martinez met the girl while working as a patrol officer.
According to the arrest affidavit, investigators learned about the alleged assault from the alleged victim's sister.
During a follow-up investigation, the alleged victim told police Martinez contacted her through Facebook and the two agreed to meet and have sex at this garage apartment. About two weeks later, they stopped communicating with each other.
Officers asked the teen's grandmother if she knew about the sex. She said she did, but didn't call police because the 14-year-old girl got mad.
Martinez resigned from the Robstown Police Department on September 28th. We've learned since then he has attempted to get jobs at Rockport PD and Taft PD without success.
Tonight at 10, we'll hear from family members on both sides of the case.
