NEW ORLEANS - Former New Orleans mayor Ray Nagin says he will appeal his conviction on public corruption charges.
Nagin has been sentenced to ten years in federal prison.
Along with the sentence, he's also been ordered to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in restitution.
Nagin is convicted of accepting bribes from businessmen who wanted work from the city or his support for various projects.
After leaving court, he said in an interview that he's been targeted.
Nagin could be eligible for supervised release after 12 months.
