Former KZTV News Anchor Walter Furley Passes Away

CORPUS CHRISTI - Former KZTV news anchorman Walter Furley died Wednesday after battling lymphoma.

His career in Corpus Christi television spanned 50 years.

Furley ended his career as a news anchor 10 years ago but he remained active in the community.

He was also seen occasionally on television commercials.

Furley was diagnosed with cancer in May 2011.

He died at his home Wednesday with his wife Pat by his side.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
