MINEOLA, N.Y. (AP) - Was it a missile that actually brought down TWA Flight 800 over Long Island in 1996?
Former investigators want the case reopened, saying new evidence points to the often-discounted theory that a missile may have downed the jumbo jet that crashed minutes after taking off from JFK International Airport in New York.
The National Transportation Safety Board concluded the crash was caused by a center fuel tank explosion.
