Former Gregory-Portland Standout Whitney West Named LSC Freshman of the Year

ALLEN - On Tuesday night former Gregory-Portland standout Whitney West earned a major college basketball honor, when the Lone Star Conference named her their Freshmen of the Year.
West moved into the starting point guard role for Abilene Christian University 12 games ago and is averaging 8.2 rebounds per game and is shooting 43.3 percent from 3-point range on the season.
Former Carroll standout Leah LeMaire by the was named to the LSC Honorable Mention team. She is currently the starting point guard at Angelo State.
