CORPUS CHRISTI -- We've all been stuck in construction on the southside Corpus Christi and most of us want to see it done - and fast.
But, a former contractor says one section may have been completed a little too fast, because its not done right.
On Airline, just past Saratoga, the street is newly constructed. Yet, its not what most would call a smooth ride across one section of roadway. Leon Little drives the intersection 7 days a week, and says there's a big problem with the work out there. "All the way across there, it dips down," he said.
As a taxpayer, he's not happy with the way his money's being spent to fix the roads. As a contractor he says he knows a little something about road construction. "They never finished it up," Little said. He says because the road is already uneven, it can make it more prone to potholes down the road.
If that happens, it will be an even bigger inconvenience not only to him, but to other drivers and passengers on the road.
"I'm in the cattle business and a lot of times I pull a cattle trailer and bang, bang, bang, bang," Little said, describing the noise his car makes when bouncing across the bump.
We called the city's traffic engineering department to find out if they plan to fix that section of roadway. We're still waiting to hear back from them.
