KINGSVILLE, Texas - In their final home game of the season, the Texas A&M-Kingsville women's basketball team fell to the Angelo State, 57-51.
Seniors Brandi Clark, Brianna Gonzalez and Kaitlyn Lowen along with sophomore Ashley Perez were recognized in their final home game as a Javelina.
Perez started the game along with her senior teammates in her first game back since the Houston Baptist exhibition game in early November. But after numerous injuries, Perez decided to end her career this season. Perez scored five points and had one board against Angelo State.
Junior Sheana Jones led the Javelinas with 11 points, hitting 3-of-4 three-pointers. Jones also had a block and one steal. Clark and freshman Michelle Wagner followed with eight points each. Wagner had three steals against Angelo.
Angelo had two players score double figures. Lauren Holt led the Rambelles with 19 points. Corpus Christi native Leah LeMaire had her second double double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
The Javelinas return to the court Saturday as they travel to Abilene Christian for the season finale. Game time is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
