BROWNSVILLE - The Coast Guard was called out early this morning to help find a man who jumped off the Queen Isabella Bridge in Port Isabel, Texas.
Television station KGBT reports ex-attorney Ray Marchan took a cab to the highest point of the bridge where he faked an illness so the cabbie would drop him off. Marchan jumped around 4:19 a.m.
Last year Marchan plead guilty in a federal racketeering case linked to disgraced State Judge Able Limas who admitted to taking bribes.
KGBT reports Marchan was expected to surrender to federal authorities today to start serving a three and a half year sentence.
At this point, officials have not recovered a body.
