CORPUS CHRISTI - A former owner of an adult day care in Flour Bluff is now facing criminal charges of abuse. In April 2011, the state raided and shut down Najmeh Griffin's Affordable Quality assisted living center and Affordable Quality nursing home after investigating allegations of patient abuse.
Griffin agreed not to open another elderly facility and to pay the state $350,000 in fines and attorney's fees. She's charged with injuring an elderly person after reportedly abusing the residents there. A trial date is pending.
