Former A&M-Kingsville Athletic Director Accused of 'Improper Photography'

KINGSVILLE - Early this morning I broke the story on former Javelina Athletic Director Brian DeAngelis' forced resignation this week.
Multiple sources confirmed to me that he had been arrested on charges of "improper photography." San Antonio Police then confirmed this for me this morning.
DeAngelis was arrested on September 16th, following an incident at a Walmart. Victims told police that DeAngelis was following a 14-year old girl and her mother through the store with what was described as a hidden camera attached to his shoe. The mother noticed something was suspicious, and confronted DeAngelis. But he ran.
The woman chased him out of the store. DeAngelis then got in his car and fled, but a Good Samaritan followed him.
DeAngelis was later questionned by the police in San Antonio who asked him for his phone and his keys, and when they began looking through the phone they found a video of the incident.
DeAngelis was then arrested and booked into the Bexar County Police Department on the charge of ‘improper photography.'
Here is the timeline of what happened at Texas A&M-Kingsville following the arrest, sent by Julie Navejar of A&M-Kingsville:
"He was arrested in Bexar County. He reported this to his supervisor on Monday off campus. His supervisor reported the arrest to the administration. DeAngelis was placed on administrative leave. Tuesday evening he met with interim athletic director D. Scott Gines off campus and gave his verbal resignation. He submitted his written resignation on Wednesday and turned over his keys and cleaned out his office. Gines met with athletic staff Thursday at noon to inform them of the resignation."
