CORPUS CHRISTI - Sheila Jo Hardin will spend some time in jail until her trial on forgery charges later this year. This morning, Judge Tom Greenwell ruled she should stay awhile because she showed up an hour and a half late for court.

Hardin tried to explain that she had a flat tire while heading to the courthouse.

She was expected to enter a plea today on multiple counts of forgery related to her arrest at a local bar where police say she tried to use a fake $100 bill to pay her tab. According to police, Hardin was found to have several fake bills in her possession.

When Hardin showed up in the courtroom she changed her mind on the plea. She told the judge she would prefer to have a trial.
