CORPUS CHRISTI - The Haas Middle School student who died from an allergic reaction to ant bites was laid to rest this morning.
Teammates from all the football teams Cameron Espinosa played on wore their jerseys to the mass this morning at Corpus Christi Cathedral.
Those teammates who did not act as pallbearers lined the aisle of the cathedral to have one last chance to say goodbye to their friend.
Espinosa suffered several ant bites while playing on the field behind Haas Middle School last week. According to the family's attorney, he told the coach about all the bites before he suddenly fell.
He spent several days on life support before his death on Monday.
Corpus Christi ISD Superintendent Dr. Scott Elliff has vowed a full review of all the procedures and policies in place concerning the incident.
